Welcome to April 2023! Spring is here! Let’s get this April 2023 started off right. We have found some indoor and outdoor activities suitable for everyone. DAWN is here to support you in taking time for you each month and enjoying all that our area has to offer.
Spring events, activities and fun has returned to Michigan! This April features events like the Comic & Anime Expo, Farm Tours at Maybury Farms, Southfield Marshmallow Drop, Our Town Art Show, and Easter Fun, not to mention fun stuff for the kids. Not to mention in these tough times there are still job fairs to participate in! These fun, exciting April 2023 events and activities for you or the kids will help keep you occupied, but we’ve also provided some helpful articles on parenting, divorce and finances. Let’s kick this Spring off right and make April 2023 a month to remember.

Comic & Anime Expo
Check out New Baltimore Trade Center’s first expo, which features vendors, cosplayers, creators, illustrators, artists and more.
Farm Tours at Maybury Farm
Families can enjoy a hands-on farm experience that connects them to the animals and agriculture at Maybury Farm. All tours include a dedicated Farm Educator and use of the playground and picnic area.
Southfield Great Marshmallow Drop
Southfield Great Marshmallow Drop – 15,000 marshmallows are dropped from a helicopter. Participants then need to collect only one marshmallow that can be exchanged for a prize. There are four drop zone groups: Children ages 4 years and younger; children ages 5-7; and children ages 8-12. The drop for individuals with disabilities will begin at 11:30a.

SPRING FLING – Crafters Market & Small Business FAIR at Lakeside Mall
The Oakland County Business Association Inc Michigan will host this business fair inside Lakeside Mall. It will have 100 exhibitors, crafters and vendors.
OUR TOWN Art Show & Sale at The Community House in Birmingham
Come out to The Community House for their 38th annual OUR TOWN Art Show & Sale and celebrate their 100th Anniversary. This is a juried art show for Michigan artists to display and sell their work.

Ferndale Easter Egg-Stravaganza
Each hunt is FREE and will feature two separate areas for ages 1-4 and ages 5-12. At Martin Road Park, children and parents will have the opportunity to see the Easter Bunny and enjoy hot chocolate, s’mores, and a senior bake sale goods. This is a FREE and non-registration event.
