Welcome to June 2025 in Metro Detroit! Summer has officially arrived, bringing long sunny days, warm nights, and a whole lot of hometown pride. The lakes are calling, patios are packed, and festivals light up every corner of the city. Whether you’re catching live music at River Days, kayaking on the Detroit River, or grabbing a Coney after a Tigers win, there’s no shortage of ways to dive into the season. From Juneteenth celebrations to outdoor movie nights and classic car shows, June in Metro Detroit is all about community, culture, and making memories in the heart of the Motor City.
June 2025 is packed with events like the Motor City Pride Festival and Parade, Motor City Irish Fest, The Wiz, 5k Run Run, Saturday’s in the park, and Family Day at Barcade Detroit. Don’t forget to check out local job fairs and seasonal volunteer opportunities. These events and activities will keep you busy, and we’ve also provided helpful articles on parenting, finances, and holiday planning for this May 2025.

Motor City Irish Fest
Overall, 20 bands will be playing in two music venues. Interspersed between the music sets will be Irish dancers from seven area Irish dance schools. The event also explores Irish heritage through its Cultural Tent, and a Children’s Area with demonstrations of Irish sports, music, and storytelling. There will also be plenty of vendors of Irish and Irish-themed merchandise, and food/drink vendors.
The Wiz
Everybody look around! The Tony Award®-winning Best Musical that took the world by storm is back and coming to Detroit! A vibrant retelling of The Wizard of Oz set to soul, funk, and R&B — The Wiz is a magical journey of self-discovery, heart, and home like you’ve never seen before.
Health, Shopping, Fitness – Time For You
5k Fun Run x Eastern Market
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to stay active, this event is fun for all. The 5k course will take you through scenic routes, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings while getting your heart pumping.
Saturday in the Park
Families can walk, run, skate or cycle safely on the six miles of Hines Drive at Nankin Mills Park Area. Hines Drive will be closed from Outer Drive to Ann Arbor Trail.
